 Several businesses, staff members, and former students of VES have donated money for our playground. They include:

 
Boone County Commission, Boone County Board of Education, Boone County Bank, Patriot Coal, Van Pharmacy, John Blair Law Offices, Stacey Waller Kerns, Robin Moore, Joe & Pam Atha, Bobby & Debbie Crawford, Phillip & Debby Harless, and DJ Jarrell. These combined contributions total $21,864.00. Students at Van Elementary have also raised $3,752 for the playground. This makes our grand total for the year $ 25,616.00
                        We hope to keep expanding our playground. If you would like to contribute to our fund, please contact Mrs. Judy! 
 
 
PHASE  II of PLAYGROUND
 
Thanks to contributions from Larry Barker (House of Delegates), Ron Stollings (State Senate), the Boone County Commission, and Boone County BOE, VES received a 2nd Piece of Playground Equipment on May 10, 2011.

Core Beliefs

Goals:
 
 
1.  All students will meet state standards in Reading/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Arts, and PE.
2.  All students will develop the personal skills of responsibility, self-direction, cultural awareness, and good citizenship in a safe and caring                      environment.
3.  Students will progress successfully both academically and socially on their journey through education.

Van Elementary School is located in the heart of Southern West Virginia’s Coal Fields, and serves approximately 113 students in grades K-5. The staff at Van Elementary strives to prepare students for continued learning in middle school and beyond. This is done by providing a curriculum that contains Rigor and Relevance, and emphasizes the need to foster and grow positive Relationships.
